Please note: Due to a sport event, between 1–5 June 2026 there are road closures in the area. HKW is fully accessible via public transport—S-Bahn (Hauptbahnhof) and U-Bahn (Bundestag)—and via bike or on foot.

The lift between levels 1, 2 and 3 of HKW is currently out of service. People using mobility aids, avoiding stepsm or pushing prams have the following access options:

The lowest of the building, level 1, is accessible exclusively from the Spree side (Bettina-von-Arnim-Ufer, via the Sharmila Rege Entrance, next to the Weltwirtschaft Restaurant).

The middle level of the building, level 2, is accessible exclusively from the Tiergarten side (John-Foster-Dulles-Allee, via the Itō Noe Entrance and the Ika Hügel-Marshall Entrance).

The top level of the building, level 3, is accessible via the ramps on the east and west sides (Nawal El Saadawi Entrance and Hedwig Dohm Entrance).

Before your visit, you can call 030 39 787 175 for information on access to the building. During events, on-site assistance is available to help you move from one level to another.

Tickets for HKW exhibitions and events can be purchased on site and via the Webshop.

Free admission to exhibitions every Monday and on selected Sundays.

Archive Souq Bookshop

The Archive Souq bookshop is adjacent to the Itō Noe Entrance and offers an extensive selection of books, particularly on HKW exhibitions and projects. HKW publications can also be purchased the shop.
