The exhibition Musafiri: Of Travellers and Guests shows paths through the world that open up when the confines of one’s familiar surroundings are left behind, presenting the work of many artists who construct and traverse worlds beyond the Western canon.

This workshop takes a close look at maps of the world and its territory, on paper and online. How do they represent the world? Neutrally and objectively or from very specific perspectives? These representations of the world determine what is and is not perceived, what is considered the centre and what is regarded as the periphery. Critical geographers therefore advocate revealing the subjectivity of maps. Participants in this workshop learn about how maps reproduce power structures and prevailing perspectives. Drawing upon their own personal experiences, together they create and map new knowledge.
