Olga Shparaga is a philosopher, and part of the Fem Group of the Belarusian opposition. After her imprisonment, she fled Belarus and now lives in exile. She holds a fellowship at the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna, and is a scientific board member of The Ideology and Politics Journal. She taught and conducted research at universities in the Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Germany, Switzerland, and the US. Moreover, she is the author of Die Revolution hat ein weibliches Gesicht. Der Fall Belarus (2021). In 2019, the International Research Congress in Belarus awarded her book Die Gemeinschaft-nach-dem-Holocaust. Unterwegs zur Gesellschaft der Inklusion (2018) as the best philosophical publication. In 2024, she received the Voltaire Prize for Tolerance, International Understanding, and Respect for Differences from the University of Potsdam. Shparaga lives and works in Vienna.
