Maria Clara Araújo dos Passos (she/her) is a Brazilian Afro-transfeminist and educator. She has a degree in Pedagogy from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo. Currently, she is a master’s student in Education (Sociology of Education) at the University of São Paulo. In 2021, she received a Certificate in Afro-Latin American Studies at the Hutchins Center, Harvard University. She is also in conversation with international scholars and activists across Latin America, Europe, and the United States. In recent years, she has given lectures at universities including Harvard, Cambridge, and the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Her first book, Pedagogias das Travestilidades, can be understood as a homage to the travesti and trans women’s movement in Brazil and their contribution to emancipatory pedagogies.
