This warm yet sharp satire follows a Burkinabe veteran who returns home expecting the pension promised for his service in the French army. When bureaucracy blocks him, his determination—and the support of the village’s women—pushes him to fight for dignity and recognition. A humorous, humane critique of postcolonial neglect.

This screening is part of the Walk-in Cinema, the film programme accompanying the exhibition Tirailleurs: Trials and Tribulations.
