The history of radio listening in Germany is as diverse as the locations of an analog transmitter scale: signals from Madrid, Istanbul, London or Moscow have been streaming through the German ether for 100 years. They connect us with a former homeland, with friendly people, languages we like to hear, cultural and political events. Pure curiosity is also often at play when we take our radio receivers on a journey.

In the Bauhaus.Listening.Workshop, transnational listening experiences are shared with each other and used to develop impulses for possible media of the future. Nathalie Singer and Marcus Gammel invite participants to a series of listening and storytelling exercises. Together the auditory knowledge in our heads and bodies is explored as one listens to the diversity of languages and stories that surround us.

Those who wish may share their own personal radio stories with us afterwards. These recordings will be placed in the Transcultural Listening Map, a virtual map for worldwide radio activities and listening stories.
