This theatre piece traces a journey from the Spree to the Baltic Sea, through various towns and cities, whilst telling stories of exploitation, resilience, and ecological injustice. On the basis of feminist aesthetics, the play develops multiple languages that go beyond the concept of words and incorporate sound, rhythm, image, and movement. In this way, WATERBODIES reveals how ecological denialism fuels polarization and extremism.

The performance space is aesthetically designed in such a way that everyone present can participate in the play; there is no separation by a ‘fourth wall’. Following the performance, space will be made for a collective forum to enable interaction between performers and audience members.
