Please note: The exhibition Global Fascisms contains depictions of violence and sexuality that may be disturbing to some people.
The exhibition Global Fascisms critically examines the aesthetic, social, and political dynamics of fascism, questioning its appeal and ideological mechanisms. A key aim is to understand fascism not only as a historical phenomenon, but also as an ongoing global threat.
The group exhibition brings together works by around fifty international artists who respond to the rise of fascist ideologies through a variety of media, including painting, film, performance, discourse, publications, and digital formats. Complemented by historical artworks, it reveals unexpected historical continuities and offers insights into the ideological seduction and aesthetics of fascist ideologies, as well as their social and technological dynamics.
Audio Guide and Digital Guide
For the exhibition Global Fascisms, Haus der Kulturen der Welt offers a bilingual audio guide (German/English) for the first time. Based on 15 selected positions, it traces central themes of the exhibition and also invites visitors to take their own audio course through the space.
The audio guide can be used via your own smartphone and with your own headphones. The audio files can be accessed directly via QR codes or via:
hkw.de/audioguide (English version)
hkw.de/audioguide/de (German version)
Speakers: Marcus Horn (DE) and Thato Kämmerer (DE)
Production: Funkhaus Ost
As with all major exhibitions, we also provide the digital HKW.Guide for Global Fascisms, with additional accessibility. This includes various short introductions to the exhibition: In German Sign Language (DGS) and International Sign (IS), in Simplified Language and Easy English, as well as short audio intros in German and English.
