The phrase ‘twelve degrees below the horizon’ describes that liminal moment just before dawn. It is a metaphor for the invisible quantum threshold, where what is observed and who is doing the observing shape what becomes real. This space between observation, collapse, and possibility is where quantum phenomena unfold. In this workshop, participants’ observations shape the group’s exploration. Through movement exercises and practices in embodied performativity, artist Ale de la Puente guides the group through sensorial modes of making sense, seeking collective understanding of the promises and challenges posed by the quantum era. The artist invites participants to mobilize collaboration, choreography, thought, and observation as tools for change, showing the deep connections between science, creativity, and art. In the workshop, rhythm serves as a metaphor for the tension between chaos and order, as well as the potential of grey areas and the limitations of definitive measurement. Through three exercises—one focused on collective drawing, another on movement and action, and a third on discovering rhythms and patterns—participants explore, embody, and imagine the invisible world of quantum physics, where possibility pulses just beneath perception.
