Bullerengue Circle is a London-based collective dedicated to cultivating the Afro-Colombian tradition of Bullerengue as a conscious, creative, and communal practice. Their work offers tools for reconnecting with rhythm, self-expression and collective awareness. Founded by Valeria Pacific and Esteban Cardona, active in the city’s Latinx community since 2019, the collective also co-directs Akolá Tambó, the UK’s first Bullerengue ensemble. They maintain close relationships with maestros in Colombia and support semilleros preserving this ancestral tradition. Their practice emphasises continuity between cultural memory and present-day community building.
