Öndercan Muti is a board member of Akebi e.V., a Berlin-based association engaged in community-based educational and remembrance work on the Armenian Genocide. He received his PhD in Sociology from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, where he also taught as an associate lecturer. His doctoral research examined the collective memory of the Armenian Genocide, with a focus on generation, family, and transnationalism. Muti is currently a scientific coordinator at Population Europe, hosted by the Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research in Berlin.
