Com Chor Berlin is a choir project for Black, Indigenous, and people of colour. It was founded in 2013 by Daniele G. Daude and is currently under the musical direction of Shelly Phillips. The project was created out of the desire to promote the networking of BIPoC communities and to make music together without sheet music. The choir sings songs by BIPoC composers that are suggested by the members. Through its concerts, it aims to reach people who see themselves as part of Berlin’s migration-influenced, diversifying cultural and everyday practices, offering them the potential for identification and participation.
