A rickety fruit stand along one of the roads that have eaten their way into the Amazon rainforest, bringing “civilization” with them. Here, Jonathas and his parents live from selling tropical fruit to motorists traveling through. Jonathas wants to escape the boredom of his life, no matter what it takes. To pick a rare wild passionfruit for a backpacking tourist he has fallen in love with, he slashes his way into the depths of the jungle – and his feelings. He is soon lost in panic, exhaustion, and hallucination. Director Andrade was inspired by the true story of a disappearance.
