Voice recognition software can now automatically evaluate the sound and tonality of a voice. This functions regardless of content, and depending on the technology can also be used without direct contact to the speaker. To “know,” the software is programmed with algorithms, depending on patterns, models, and experience, in the case of the sexual offender, an asylum seeker, a social welfare recipient, or a defendant. Evidence is sought in the voice and the sound of language rather than the statements made, and visualized in diagrams and curves. The sound of truth is objectified separate from the subject—will it still be a fair and just hearing if nobody is listening? Or perhaps is a new hearing in general required, according to the sound, when human and machine form a unit or take over machines:Zukunftsmusik?
