Donald Trump’s inauguration shows us once again that anti-democratic and anti-liberal forces are on the rise around the world. On 23 February, the day of the Bundestag elections, the stakes are also high in Germany: the result will be a challenge for all those in Germany who are committed to a progressive, inclusive, and plural democracy.

We know there will be many reasons for anger, confusion, and sadness on election night. That’s why we want to come together and scream, cry, discuss, laugh, hope, drink and dance—and show that we are fighting for pluralistic democracy. That we will not give up, neither before nor after the election.

That's why HKW invites you to a Public Screaming to follow the first projections, results, and post-election statements. These will be commented on live in front of an audience, there will be discussion rounds, live music by Berlin hip hop band The Swag, and lots of collective emotion.

HKW is calling on everyone to become active and fight together for democracy: every voice, every discussion, and every contribution counts in order to take a clear stance against marginalization, right-wing violence, and anti-democratic tendencies.

With: Mohamed Amjahid, Miriam Camara, Max Czollek, Ibou Diop, Paula Fürstenberg, Rahel Jaeggi, Massimo Perinelli, Patrice Poutrus, Arne Semsrott, The Swag, Hengameh Yaghoobifarah, and others.
