Disabled people who desire, who are sexually educated, who feel comfortable in their own skin, who explore, experience little visibility. Sexability shows the sensuality and lust from the perspective of people with so-called mental disabilities in the form of animated film. BThe basis of the film is the cooperation of the director, Anne-Christin Plate, with seven artists of the Thikwa Werkstatt für Theater und Kunst, a theatre and art workshop for people with so-called mental disabilities in Berlin. Throughout the course of two years, she used weekly assemblies on questions around sexuality and self-expression as a learning field for knowledge exchange and reflection.
