We still need to talk, my caterpillover is a fictional melodic dialogue between a migrant artist and an IKEA caterpillar toy. Moving across bodies, sounds, and languages, the performance explores parasitism, symbiosis, and mimicry as ways to contemplate intimacy during a time in which love is overwhelmingly commodified. Thinking through different species, homes, and tongues, the artist asks what it means to love, transform, and become-with others in a world of commodified relations and ongoing precarity.
Activated by the artist, the performance transforms the space into a musical installation comprising punched-paper strips, drawings, poems, melodies, and field recordings of different interspecies encounters.
