For five decades, Şivan Perwer has used his unmistakable voice to uphold the preservation of Kurdish culture and a commitment to freedom, human rights, and reconciliation. As one of the most important Kurdish artists worldwide, he has become a cultural ambassador, giving a voice to the unheard through his music. His songs tell of suffering, hope, and resistance and are at the same time a powerful appeal for humanity and understanding. With over twenty-five albums released to date and numerous appearances on international stages and at major solidarity concerts, he has reached an audience of millions over the course of his career to become the ‘voice of Kurdistan’. On this occasion at HKW, he celebrates his 50th stage anniversary with a dedicated concert evening.
