Rônni Maciel

Rônni Maciel is a multidisciplinary Brazilian artist, choreographer, performer, actor, composer, and poet. He graduated from the Maria Olenewa State School of Dance and the Ballet Dalal Achcar in Rio de Janeiro. He moved to Germany in 2007 and he has worked with artists such as Frank Castorf, Constanza Macras, and Deborah Colker, with performances and creations at venues including Deutsches Theater, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Schauspiel Frankfurt, and Maxim Gorki Theater. His recent works combine body, music, and word as forms of resistance rooted in Black, queer, Afro-Brazilian, and Indigenous marginalized cultures. Maciel lives and works in Berlin and internationally.
