Pachakuti (Matthias Hinkelmann) is a Colombian-German multi-instrumentalist, producer, composer, film-maker, and ethnomusicologist whose research focuses on spiritual jazz. He is co-founder of the Berlin-based diaspora-futuristic jazz collective Sonic Interventions, whose debut album Do You Remember? (2024) won the German Jazz Award for Best Newcomer Act of 2025. His two albums Semilla (2020) and Dédalo (2022) with young.vishnu deal with themes of introspection, healing and global mythology. He most recently released works with Eric Owusu, Laíz & The New Love Experience and High John. Pachakuti lives and works in Hildesheim.
