Onkar Singh Kular is Professor of Design at HDK-Valand - Academy of Art and Design and coordinator of the PLACE (Public Life, Arts & Critical Engagement) programme at the University of Gothenburg. Through a combination of oral history mixing, counter-mapping, and live-performance, his current research publically examines how the musical cultures of Reggae, Dub, Techno, Jungle, and Grime have designed artefacts, shaped spaces, and remapped geographies from the underground up. His research and practice has been disseminated internationally through commissions, exhibitions, education and publications. Kular lives and works in Gothenburg, Sweden.
