Deborah A. Thomas

Deborah A. Thomas ist eine interdisziplinäre Wissenschaftlerin, Filmemacherin und Produzentin. Sie ist R. Jean Brownlee Professorin für Anthropologie und Direktorin des Zentrums für experimentelle Ethnographie an der University of Pennsylvania. Sie ist Autorin preisgekrönter Bücher, darunter Political Life in the Wake of the Plantation (2019) und Exceptional Violence (2011), und sie ist Regisseurin und Co-Produzentin der Dokumentarfilme Four Days in May (2017) und Bad Friday (2011). Sie hat mehrere Auszeichnungen erhalten, darunter ein Guggenheim-Stipendium, und ist Mitglied der American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Thomas lebt und arbeitet in Philadelphia.
