Mykaell Riley
Mykaell Riley is curator, researcher, consultant, producer, songwriter, and senior lecturer in Music at the University of Westminster. Since 2024 he is also Music Director for the BBC TV series Boarders and academic board member for the Museum of London. His career started as a founding member of the British roots Reggae band Steel Pulse who went on to receive a Grammy. As a writer and producer, Riley’s work has encompassed TV, film and theatre, resulting in over eleven UK top twenty positions, and three UK number ones. Recent exhibitions include Beyond the Bassline: 500 Years of Black British Music, British Library/National Sound Archive, 2024. Riley lives and works in London.
