Mithu Sen (1971, Burdwan) is a conceptual, multidisciplinary artist who challenges social norms and institutional authority through radical hospitality and a commitment to ‘perpetual unbecoming’, resisting fixity and scripted norms. Her practice reimagines identity and belonging, using playful yet provocative interventions to question power structures. Through counter-narratives, she destabilizes societal codes and polite conventions. In 2023, Sen had  a major solo survey at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne and her 25-year monograph, Unmyth, was launched in 2025. Her works have been shown at institutions worldwide. Sen lives and works in New Delhi.
