Mirjam Wenzel is director of the Jewish Museum Frankfurt. She received her doctorate from the Institute for German Philology at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich with a thesis on German-language Holocaust discourse in the 1960s. Her publications include articles, essays, and blog posts on cultural theory, aesthetics and museology, on the representation of the Holocaust in visual arts, photography and film, and on critical theory. She is also a professor at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and at the Bauhaus University Weimar, and has been Chair of the Board of the Association of European Jewish Museums since 2024.
