Miriam Rainer is a translator, essayist, and researcher with a PhD in German Studies from Brown University. Her writing on the afterlife of an ongoing German imperialism examines how aspirations for anticolonial arrangements have anarchy as their hidden ingredient. Through recurrent clusters of topoi she explores the proximities between anarchist thought and anagram. As part of the Arabic-German writing collective WIESE, she co-curated the Al-Khatib-Glossar (2022) on Syrian state torture and German historic entanglements. She recently joined the Archive Books ensemble as editor. Rainer lives and works in Berlin.
