Manuela Bauche
Manuela Bauche is a historian specializing in the history of life sciences in the 19th and 20th centuries. She also researches the connections between different histories of injustice and violence. Her dissertation Medizin und Herrschaft [Medicine and Rule], published by Campus-Verlag in 2017, examines the relationships between malaria control, state power, racism, and classism in Cameroon, German East Africa, and East Frisia around 1900. Manuela Bauche directs the Ihnestraße Memorial Site at the Otto Suhr Institute for Political Science at Freie Universität Berlin. Bauche lives and works in Berlin.
