Lemn Sissay

Lemn Sissay is a poet, playwright, memoirist, and broadcaster. He has performed at the Library of Congress in the US, the Ethiopian National Theatre, and the London Palladium, among others. His television documentaries have been nominated for Grierson, BAFTA and RTS awards and his radio work has been nominated for Sony and Palm D’Ors. Sissay was the official poet of the London Olympics in 2012 and he was chancellor of the University of Manchester from 2015–2022. He is an Honorary Fellow of Oxford and Cambridge Colleges, and winner of the 2024 Hay Festival medal for poetry.
