Ladan Osman is a writer and film-maker. She is the author of the award-winning poetry collections Exiles of Eden (2019) and The Kitchen-Dweller’s Testimony (2015). Her poems have been translated into over 10 languages and her photographs and experimental media have been exhibited by Jenkins Johnson Gallery, Arts Incubator, and the New York African Film Festival, among others. Her work as a documentary film-maker includes The Fly Collectors (2024), The Ascendants (2020), Sun of the Soil (2019), and Sam, Underground (2018). These films have played in numerous festivals and were awarded several prizes. Osman lives and works in New York.
