L-Ness Lioness (Lydia Owano Akwabi) is a poetic, social activist, performing and recording femcee, composer, African Hip Hop cultural specialist, certified nutritionist, and researcher. She always finds diverse ways in which music, lyrical, and creative writing can be utilized to advocate for the transformation of the lives of vulnerable and marginalized groups. She is interested in adding value to the creation of different and more Kenyan sounds in musicals and the artistic repertoire at large, by using traditional Kenyan instruments in a current way to capture a generational exploration of traditional and urban sounds. She works with the Nairobi Musical Theatre Initiative as a composer, with the African Population and Health Center as a researcher, and with PAWA254 Studios, Truce Label studios and Angaza Msanii records as a recording and performing femcee.
