Julia Scher

Julia Scher (1954, Hollywood) is an artist. Scher’s work addresses surveillance both as a concrete phenomenon of control, including its apparatus and architecture, as well as its impact on private and public sphere. Scher has taught and lectured at several institutions, among them Harvard University, Columbia University, and The Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton. Recent exhibitions and projects include Énormément Bizarre, Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, 2025; and Let them know your scarlet heat, let them glisten, Esther Schipper, Berlin, 2024. Recent publications include: R.S.I. (2023). Scher lives and works in Cologne.
