Jingyun Li

Jingyun Li is a theatre maker and producer. Living and working across languages has strongly shaped their approach to performance and art making: being a non-native in many languages, they look for expressive potentials in typos, mistakes, imperfections – forms of non-standardized language use and linguistic alienation. In their practice, they use languages as artistic material to playfully reshape ways of writing and speaking and to question worldview, ideology, and power of languages. Through the lens of language, they explore a wide range of themes such as sexuality, cultural identity, and censorship.
