Ishimwe Samuel Karemangingo is a filmmaker. He started his filmmaking career in Rwanda during various workshops and later attended the HEAD – Genève where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in its cinema department. His work has dealt with the memory and legacy of the genocide against the Tutsis in Rwanda and his graduation film Imfura (2017) was presented at the Berlinale, where it won the Silver bear Award for best short film. Karemangingo lives and works in Berlin and Rwanda.
