Hao Jingban is an artist who works with video to investigate the historical distance between the present and past. In her research-based practice, she conducts historical investigation, archival research, field study, and personal interviews. Her works are presented as observational documentaries, entangling individual stories with collective histories. Her works have been exhibited in institutions and biennales worldwide. Recent exhibitions include Pictures of the Post-80s Generation —Generational Leap, TANK Shanghai, 2024 and the solo exhibition Hao Jingban: Opus One, Matadero Madrid, 2020. Jingban currently lives and works in Yunnan Province, China.
