Flora Vincent is a scientist specializing in marine microbiology. Now group leader at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL), in Heidelberg, she explores the diversity and impact of marine microbial interactions at different biological scales with a focus on symbiosis within unicellular eukaryotes. Vincent has been particularly involved in the subject of diversity in science. She is co-author of the book Artificial Intelligence, not without her! (2019), a book that dissects how algorithms reproduce sexist biases and has been involved in numerous arts and science projects.
