Esper Postma is an artist who approaches objects as beings with inner struggles. He focuses in particular on architecture, monuments and icons. His installations, photographs and texts bring out hidden aspects of their character, undermining the meanings commonly ascribed to them. In 2026 he will be a resident at Wiels in Brussels. He was a resident of Villa Romana and a participant of the BPA// Berlin program for artists. Recent solo exhibitions include: Supernovel, Canary Test, Los Angeles, 2023; Doppelgängers, EIGEN+ART Lab, Berlin, 2022. His publication Doppelgänger appeared in 2025. Postma lives and works in Amsterdam and Berlin.
