Carolina Riaño Gómez
Carolina Riaño Gómez studied music with an emphasis on singing in Bogotá, followed by opera in Germany, and for several decades gained extensive experience as a choir member, soloist, and collaborator alongside numerous directors in Europe. Riaño’s repertoires span from classical to Latin American folklore, with projects like the a cappella vocal ensemble Chocolate com Laranja, the band Ambrodavi, the Colombian Caribbean Folklore band La Cura, or directing the Berlin-based female vocal ensemble Canto Diáspora, a project to encourage and empower Spanish-speaking women through finding their singing voice while practising orally transmitted music from Latin America. Riaño lives in Berlin.
