Carlos Leppe (Santiago de Chile, 1952–2015) was a Chilean artist dedicated to the development of performance, installation, sculpture, and painting, as well as advertising and television. He is considered a key figure in understanding the relationship between visual arts and corporeality in Chile, based on his use of his own body as a medium for artistic research. His works are held in museums and public and private collections worldwide. He exhibited at the Paris Biennale, the Trujillo Biennale, the Sydney Biennale, and the Mercosur Biennale and he won the Altazor Award for National Arts twice, in 2002 and 2005.
