Anastassia Pletoukhina
Anastassia Pletoukhina was born in Moscow in 1986 and came to Lübeck with her family in 1998 as a Jewish quota refugee. Since then, she has been actively involved in shaping Jewish life in Germany. She is a social educator and social scientist, works as director of the programme centre of the Jewish Agency for Israel in Berlin and is honorary chair of the Ernst Ludwig Ehrlich Study Programme. Her practical focus is on promoting and professionalising Jewish engagement in Germany. The author of Doing Judaism (2023) has lived with her family in Berlin since 2011. Pletoukhina is a survivor of the attack on the synagogue in Halle in October 2019.
