Anastasiia Kosodii is a Ukrainian playwright, director, and one of the co-founders of the Kyiv Theatre of Playwrights. Before the full-scale Russian invasion, Kosodii often worked with NGOs in Eastern Ukraine in towns located on the front lines of the war between Ukraine and Russia. Kosodii has directed and written numerous plays including: How to Talk to the Dead, Nationaltheater Mannheim, 2023; What is Jewish Music, Münchner Kammerspiele, 2021; and collaborated with Natalka Vorozhbyt on the project Crimea 5am, 2021. In 2022, she organized a series of Ukrainian readings entitled Vom Krieg Ukrainische Dramatiker*innen erzählen vom Leben während der Invasion durch Russland [On the war—Ukrainian playwrights talk about life during the Russian invasion], which featured in theatres across Europe. In 2022, Kosodii started her work as an in-house author at the Nationaltheater Mannheim. Kosodii lives and works in Berlin and Kyiv.
