Amara Moira is a writer, professor, and trans activist. Her PhD in literary theory from the Universidade Estadual de Campinas, which she completed with a thesis on the indeterminacy of meaning in James Joyce’s Ulysses, marked a milestone in her career. Moira is the author of E se eu fosse puta (2016) and Neca: Romance em bajubá (2024). She also translated the short story collection Chuva dourada sobre mim (2024) by Argentine transvestite Naty Menstrual and was coordinator of the Museu da Diversidade Sexual in São Paulo, where she currently lives.
