Abdourahman Waberi
Abdourahman Waberi is an acclaimed novelist, poet, and essayist. He has published several books of fiction including In The United States of Africa (2009) and Transit (2004), non-fiction, and poetry. His work has been translated into a multitude of languages. Waberi has received many awards and fellowships, including a Villa Médicis – Académie de France Rome fellowship, a DAAD Artist-in-Residence fellowship, and La Grande Médaille de la Francophonie from L’Académie française. Waberi teaches French and Francophone Literature and Creative Writing at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Waberi lives in Washington, D.C. and Paris.
