An elderly Estonian woman discovers a young Russian woman in her garden who is in desperate need of help, and hides her from her Mafiosi tormentors. What she doesn't know is that the two are linked by a long-distant family drama. "Purge" retells European history between Soviet occupation and new realities, a history in which women are the victims of both male violence and political systems.
