We work, play and shop online, we get our information or fall in love on the Internet, release our identity into the public domain and re-invent it there. Yet our bodies remain analog – off-line – vulnerable and transient. The tension between the digital and analog worlds is growing. Our way of thinking, of feeling, of dealing with one another is changing. This can sometimes be highly interesting, sometimes banal, hilariously funny or just sad. The team at ZDF’s Kleines Fernsehspiel has organized an online contest for young filmmakers on the subject of the analog body in the digital era – we now present the 25 most exciting entries. We will also introduce the international researchers who will be assuming patronage of the five projects for one year. The completed films will be screened in December 2010 as part of a convention.
