Accordion-Feature Film, Germany 2003, 110 min.

Schultze’s small town life in Saxony-Anhalt turns a notch more miserable when he’s prematurely retired from his job: a pub, some fishing, and a little garden are all he’s got. But everything changes when the amateur musician suddenly discovers a passion for Cajun music. Schultze goes from playing polkas on his accordion to coaxing spirited southern sounds out of it. These rhythms transport the former miner to where it all began, smack in the middle of the Mississippi Delta, deep inside the swamps and bayous of Louisiana, BBQs, Tabasco and Two Step ...

The film won major prizes at numerous international film festivals, including Venice, Stockholm and Gijón.
