Padmini Chettur, internationally acclaimed choreographer on the Indian dance scene, meets Sasha Waltz.

Since they first met in Bombay in 2001, Padmini Chettur and Sasha Waltz have remained in close contact with one another. Following a year of rehearsals in Chennai, Madras, Paper Doll, the latest choreography by Padmini Chettur is being premièred in April 2005 in Berlin. Padmini Chettur and Sasha Waltz offer glimpses into the process of creating their latest work and engage in a dialogue on the aesthetics of beauty.

Paper Doll has been co-produced by Springdance, Utrecht; kunstenfestivaldesarts, Brüssel; Grand Theatre, Groningen; Théâtre de la Ville, Paris; and Sasha Waltz & Guests in co-operation with the House of World Cultures and the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz. Sasha Waltz’s latest work Impromptus which also deals with constellations of beauty, can be seen at the Schaubühne theatre.

Performances at the Studio der Schaubühne: 29 and 30 April at 21:00 h and 4 to 7 May at 20:30 h.
