Vishnu longs to get away from the monotony of life in his father’s hair oil business: he gets an opportunity for adventure when he is asked to drive a run-down old truck to a faraway automobile museum. And he really does discover new worlds: a young runaway, a talkative entertainer and a pretty nomad girl, but above all, the magic of film. For the truck was once used as a cinema and the projectors and film rolls are all still in working order. Strange things happen when the gang starts to put on movies wherever they stop off. If a film is good, the following day is also good. But if a film is boring, deadly dangers lie in wait for them on their desert journey ... . Dev Benegal won the coveted Indian Star Screen Award for “Road, Movie“.
