Actually, the old "Danube" has seen better days. The rusty old ship is ready to retire along with its captain Fritz. But then a young man comes on board with a coffin in Vienna with the persons last will and testament which forces the ship and its passengers on a long (last) trip down the Danube towards the Black Sea. Also on board: An orphan child, a cocaine addict, a Transylvanian, a deserter, and other displaced characters. The journey east is two thousand kilometers long. Fespite a brilliant cast with Otto Sander and Robert Stadlober, the real star of director Goran Rebic’s "Boatmovie" is the flow and rhythm of the river.
