Migrants know the traditions, social norms and behavioral practices of their homeland along with those of the country where they currently reside. They are constantly confronted by the idiosyncrasies and contra-dictions of a culture different from their own- a confrontation that could potentially lead to conflicts. At the same time, this knowledge provides an opportunity for mediating between cultures and promoting social and economic growth. In this discussion about problems and practical solutions, we will identify ways in which this potential can be employed- and what conditions must be created to overcome barriers.
