The works of the ‘post independence generation’ of African film-makers are influence by their experiences of living in different cultures. The question of ‘cultural identity’ no longer presents itself solely from an immigrant’s standpoint , but also from that of the homecomer. The panel will be discussing the potential and perspectives of contemporary African cinema as a ‘cinema of dual cultures’.
